And I’m too lazy to do any of the one bajillion assignments piling up. I’m on my reading week now (oh, the life of a university student), and of couuurse I have contracted the flu. So, while I should be out partying and watching movies and shopping and spending money I don’t have, I’m confined to my room, barely able to drink water let alone eat Valentines Day chocolates that have accumulated on the kitchen table.

Also, to add to my misery, this illness decided to visit me on the morning of February 14 – the day in which I had a hot date with John Mayer. I had to leave mid-date due to the violent urge to vomit. Sorry baby.

Anyway, this is pretty irrelevant to Plastic Skyline, but since I don’t have a blog of my own, I figured it would not be absolute blasphemy if I posted it here. On that note, any blog name suggestions for me?

I’m not being very coherent right now, so sorry for jumping from topic to topic, BUT the main purpose of this blog post was supposed to be a shoutout to all you people out there who follow Bianca and I and the growth of ~Plastic Skyline~. I bet you guys didn’t know that I spend my free time googling Plastic Skyline, reading all the blog posts, yahoo answer questions, tumblr thingies, etc etc. I’m just so happy to know that people out there are inspired by us…..and even though Bianca and I have gotten extremely lazy (we promise, shop updates + videos SOON), we still love you guys.

So I think it would be a good idea if the first thing ya’ll see aren’t the words FUCK x100. Therefore, I am writing this post! And even though the below post has been up for less than 24 hours, I would like to thank the numerous people who have sent us comments via email. We really can’t thank you enough for the support and words of encouragement. We hope that you guys continue to enjoy what we have to offer currently, in the near future, and 500 years from now!!!

Hi, excuse me, hello. I don’t believe there is a specific section that this stuff falls under what is called “vintage?” Do the brand names beside these ~UNRULY GARMENTS~ say *vintage* beside them, like say, the “Black Sheer Sweetheart Dress???” Or am I missing something? Have I gone blind (it must’ve been because of this caps-locked message)? Oh wait, my bad, IT DOESN’T SAY THAT ANYWHERE.

You’re obviously a long-time follower because you’re definitely living in the past when we WERE called “Plastic Skyline Vintage”. And, if you’re living in the past, you should know that we have created a plethora of garments ourselves, all to the applause of ~fashionistas~ all over the world. Note, the “Gold Pleated Skirt” under the “Yours Truly” section.

So alright, if you want to be technical about it, the off-the-shoulder dresses AREN’T vintage… but they’re still nice and that’s why we’re selling them. Online shops like FredFlare and Modcloth sell third party brands all the time. And it’s pretty obvious that these dresses aren’t vintage… why would we have two of them, right? You should also note our pricing method. Our vintage garments (which by the way are probably 4/5ths of the items up right now…), are higher-priced than the garments that aren’t actually vintage.

Finally, calm down, relax, take a chill pill or use your own advice and “grow the fuck up.” I’m kind of worried about you popping a nerve in your head or something. You don’t want any permanent brain damage. Devote your time into a peaceful activity, like knitting. Or find some friends. Or a dog. Or both. Or find Jesus. I hear that always helps.

So God bless you, you poor lost little soul. Open your heart to the spirit of Jesus and maybe your world will be right again.

Interpretive Dance

Back in November, Bianca and I found ourselves with absolutely nothing to do. To celebrate my brand new MacBook, it seemed only natural to open up PhotoBooth and take ugly pictures and shit (see below post for pictures that we took yesterday). The thing with ugly photos is that seeing your face distorted gets old REALLY fast, so within a matter of minutes we were bored again. Anyway, I don’t exactly know how it happened, but we found ourselves recording this interpretive dance video that we have only decided to post now (strictly because it’s OLD NEWS and we’re ready to embarrass ourselves in front of the entire interweb).

Hopefully ya’ll find this endearing and not scary. We don’t mean to be chasing you away. We’re perfectly normal.

There’s something to be said about change. I don’t know if it’s the idea of getting a fresh start or the prospect of channeling ambition into an almost surreal project, but I must say that the urge to redesign and reconstruct Plastic Skyline is a fairly consistent one in which I find knocking at my door every few months.

Being one of two, it seems to be fair enough to say that even when divided, the workload is tough. In combination with livin’ da lyf ‘n all dat shit, maintaining decent grades to get us by in school and of course being nice and angelic and generally pretty FLY people, Bianca and I don’t always have the time to follow through with the big plans we have for Plastic Skyline. However, when the Plastic Skyline re-design bug visited us again in the last few days of November, we agreed it was time for us to buckle down and do something that was truly reflective of all that we’ve learned over the past 1.3333 years.

I have to admit, back in it’s infancy in 2008, PS just seemed like a big dream that was very far away. At the young age of 16, it’s almost comical to think that two virtual strangers had such drive to make something out of absolutely nothing. Because even when our site layout looked like a very bad mixture of Christmas and dog poo; even when I had a very bad haircut and didn’t wear any makeup; and even before we coined the term ‘twins’; we worked and worked and worked and worked and WORKED until we completed our Summer 2008 goal of Plastic Skyline success.

So with all that said, I am proud to present to you the launch of version 3 of Plastic Skyline! To those who have been with us since the get-go, I would like to extend our gratitude once again. We may say it countless times, but honestly we mean it from the bottom of our hearts. The PS journey has been one of the most interesting and rewarding experiences ever, and it’s hard to imagine where we’d be without it.

So, as we embark on yet one more year of conversing with the old chinese man at the post office, filling up memory cards full of pictures, visiting thrift stores around the city, eating countless plates of fries at our favourite family-owned restaurant, continuing on with the youtube fame dream, and just consistently and constantly enjoying the twin life, I can say with much certainty that 2010 is going to be a good year.
